How to Source Gloves from China: Choosing a Manufacturer

How to Source Gloves from China: A Buyer’s Guide to Choosing a Manufacturer

Sourcing gloves from China means separating real factories from trading companies, verifying certification, and getting MOQ, sampling and logistics right. Zhanjiang Jiali Glove Products Co., Ltd. has manufactured latex and nitrile gloves from its own 57,000 m² automated facility in Zhanjiang, Guangdong since 1998 — here is the checklist we recommend every importer work through.

1. Confirm it is a real factory, not a trader

Ask for the factory address, production-line count and whether the gloves are made in-house. A genuine manufacturer can show its lines, its QC lab and its certificate numbers. Jiali runs 9 automated production lines and makes every glove in-house — examination, household and industrial, latex and nitrile.

2. Verify certification — ask for numbers, not logos

Any supplier can paste a CE mark. Verify the certificate number with the issuing body:

  • CE EU-type examination via Notified Body 0075 (CTC Groupe) — Category II and Category III.
  • FDA 510(k) K072145 for patient examination gloves (US, 21 CFR 880.6250).
  • ISO 9001:2015 quality system, ISO 14001 environmental, amfori BSCI social audit, FSC chain of custody for packaging.

Every certificate number we hold is published on our certifications page so you can check it independently.

3. Understand MOQ and container quantities

Most Chinese glove factories quote MOQ by container. Jiali’s standard MOQ is one 20 GP container per specification — roughly 144,000 to 324,000 pairs depending on glove type and gram weight. Consolidating several specifications into one container is normal; agree it before ordering.

4. Sample before you commit

Request pre-production samples in your target size, thickness (gram weight) and colour, and test them against the standard you need (EN 455 / ASTM D6319 / EN ISO 374). See our standards guide for what to test.

5. Lock down OEM / private-label terms

For private label, confirm custom branding on glove, packaging and carton, your artwork process, and lead time. Our OEM & private-label page covers the full process.

6. Plan logistics from the right port

Production location drives freight. Zhanjiang sits on Guangdong’s coast with straightforward container export to the US, EU and Middle East; agree Incoterms (FOB/CIF), production lead time and inspection before shipment.
